Filmmakers Handbook 2008 Edition, by Steven Ascher & Edward Pincus

Description: A great technical reference about film and video. This is the 'bible' for figuring out what all those names and acronyms mean, and gives a good basis in both traditional and modern methods.

Making Documentary Films & Videos: A Practical Guide to Planning, Filming, and Editing Documentaries, by Barry Hampe

Description: An excellent overview of the process of documentary filmmaking.
